Does teeth whitening really work?

Absolutely yes!  The surface of your teeth contains millions of microscopic pores and over the years, organic compounds from foods, drink and tobacco penetrate these pores causing discolouration of your teeth enamel.  Almost all natural teeth respond to the Wowsmile whitening process however some teeth take longer to whiten such as those with tetracycline antibiotic staining.

How does it work?

Our gel turns into water and oxygen which penetrate the enamel and almost all types of stains are lifted out of the porous enamel.  In short, the whitening gel is activated by the moisture in your mouth and it is this activated state that it releases the oxygen to the teeth to enable the whitening process to begin.

Will teeth whitening damage the enamel of my teeth?

Research data to date shows there is no risk to tooth enamel with the Wowsmile process.

Will it hurt?

Most clients find the process completely painless, however, a small percentage may experience temporary sensitivity to hot and cold for 24 hours after treatment.

Does it work on veneers, crowns, bridges or fillings?

The whitening procedure will restore them to their original colour.

Are there any injections or drillings?

Absolutely not.

Are there any side effects?

The only reported side effects could be temporary sensitivity for 24 hours.

How long will the results last?

This depends on your lifestyle, but for non smokers your teeth should remain noticeably whiter for up to 18 months, however to maintain optimum results we recommend regular 12 monthly treatments to maintain your brilliant smile.
